Cleveland State Women’s Basketball Travels To Wright State For Midweek Contest

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team will open the final week of regular season play on the road, traveling to Wright State on Wednesday, February 25. Wednesday's game is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start in Fairborn, Ohio.

Entering the final week of regular season play the Vikings are 21-8 on the year, and own an 11-7 record in Horizon League play. Cleveland State is currently sitting in third place in the #HLWBB standings with two games left to play.

Cleveland State is currently on a four-game win streak, picking up wins over IU Indy, Robert Morris, Green Bay, and Purdue Fort Wayne over the last few weeks.

Last time out, Jada Leonard recorded the 1,000th point of her collegiate career, going 2-for-2 from the free throw line to finish with 1,001 points. Leonard joins Colbi Maples as the only two current Vikings with 1,000+ career points, while Maples also eclipsed the 1,000-point mark at Cleveland State earlier this season.

Entering the week, Izabella Zingaro is the only #HLWBB player to rank in the top-5 in scoring and rebounding, ranking second averaging 16.0 points and fourth averaging 7.3 rebounds per game. In addition, Maples ranks third in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game.

Leonard currently ranks 16th among Division I players and leads all league players with 84 steals on the year, recording at least one takeaway in all but one game this season. In addition, Zingaro ranks ninth with 145 made free throws and 15th with a .588 field goal percentage on the year.

Cleveland State's 21 wins marks the fifth straight 20-win campaign for the Vikings and the sixth over the last seven years. Over the last five years, the Vikings have combined for 128 wins, posting a 128-38 record.

Wright State enters Wednesday's game with a 10-19 record on the year, including a 6-12 record in league play. Most recently, the Raiders dropped a 68-62 decision at Northern Kentucky, and currently sit ninth in the league standings.
