Summary

Biography

Jaidon Lipscomb, a 6’5” guard from Columbus, is the newest addition to the 2025-26 Cleveland State men’s basketball team. Head coach Rob Summers announced the addition of Lipscomb with one year of eligibility remaining.

“Jaidon brings exactly what we’re looking for at Cleveland State — experience and a versatile skill set that fits our system,” added Coach Summers. “His time at the Division I level has prepared him to make an impact here. He can knock down shots, and make smart, winning plays. Jaidon’s going to be a great fit on and off the court.”

Lipscomb comes to Cleveland after spending two years at Florida International. He appeared in 30 games with 19 starts in the 2023-24 season. Lipscomb played in two games this past season before an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season. Lipscomb scored in double figures eight times in 2023-24 and averaged 6.3 points per game. Lipscomb registered a season best 23 points in a game against Trinity and tallied a season-high five made three-pointers in a win over Western Kentucky in March of last year.

Lipscomb spent his first two seasons playing at Lakeland Community College in Florida. He played in 54 total games over two seasons and averaged double figures in scoring in both seasons. He averaged 2.5 made three-pointers per game over his two seasons and saw his scoring average jump eight points per game in his second season where he averaged 23.3 points per contest.

Lipscomb played his high school basketball at Pickerington Central High School outside of Columbus. He went on to play his prep season at Dohn Prep outside of Cincinnati. Lipscomb helped lead Pickerington Central to a 25-2 overall record and an appearance in the regional semifinal round of the OHSAA Tournament his senior year.

Upon announcing his commitment Lipscomb said, “Cleveland State is home and that’s where my heart has always been at. To come back and represent this prestigious program for my final year is truly a blessing. I believe in this entire staff’s vision and can’t wait to get to work with my brothers. Let’s get to work Viking Nation!“
