Summary

Biography

Preist Ryan is the newest member of the Cleveland State men’s basketball team. Head coach Rob Summers announced the addition of Ryan after one season at Howard College. Ryan comes to Cleveland with two years of eligibility remaining. Ryan stands 6’6” and is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
 
“Signing Preist Ryan is a big step for our program,” added Coach Summers. “He believes in our vision and trusts our process and university. We’re excited to help him grow into the best version of himself.”
 
Ryan spent the 2024-25 season at Howard College after playing his first collegiate season at Coppin State. At Howard he played in 30 games with 28 starts averaging over 30 minutes per contest. He shot 50 percent from the field averaging 16.3 points per game. Ryan finished the season at a 46 percent from three-point range and 80 percent from the free throw line. He averaged 5.3 rebounds per game and 1.5 assists per game.
 
In his first collegiate season at Coppin State Ryan played in 16 games with four starts. He averaged 5.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game in 17.9 minutes per contest. Ryan scored in double figures four times including a season best 18 points on December 6 against Wagner.
 
Ryan spent his postgrad season at Perkiomen School outside of Philadelphia after playing in high school at Richmond Heights High School outside of Cleveland and Vincentian Academy outside of Pittsburgh. In his postgrad season he averaged over 20 points per game and led his team to an appearance in the Great Atlantic Conference championship game.
