CLEVELAND, Ohio – First-year Cleveland State women's basketball head coach Bob Dunn has announced that the group of
Sarah Hurley,
Sur Lozano,
Hanna Medina Kajevic,
Paula Pique, and
Queen Ruffin will return for the Vikings during the 2026-27 campaign, while Shelby Zoeckler and Carolyn Wochele will once again be on the CSU sideline.
Last season, Hurley and Pique were both part of the starting lineup throughout the year, Hurley averaging 4.1 points and 3.9 rebounds in her second season at CSU and Pique averaging 3.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in her first season as a Viking.
As true freshmen last year, Lozano and Medina Kajevic appeared sparingly throughout the season, Medina Kajevic playing in 22 games and Lozano appearing in nine contests.
Ruffin played in just one game during her first season at Cleveland State in 2025-26 before suffering a season-ending injury.
"The experience from this returning group will be incredibly valuable to our success next season," Dunn said. "These players understand the standard and expectations that come with being Cleveland State Vikings, and they are excited about the direction of the program."
This group helped Cleveland State to its fifth straight 20-win campaign last year, while they were also part of a Vikings team that reached the WNIT Great 8 for the program's sixth straight postseason appearance.
In addition, Shelby Zoeckler will be returning in her role as Assistant Coach, while Carolyn Wochele has been promoted to Assistant Coach/Director of Operations.
"Retaining Shelby and Carolyn on our coaching staff was an easy decision. Shelby knows Cleveland State better than anyone and brings an elite work ethic every day. Carolyn has demonstrated her commitment to the program by stepping up in every way possible since I became head coach, and she has earned her new role on staff. I'm excited to have both of them as part of this staff," Dunn said.
The 2026-27 season will mark the fourth year as an assistant coach for Zoeckler, while it will mark her sixth year as a full-time staff member with the Vikings.
Wochele joined the Vikings prior to the 2025-26 campaign as the Video Coordinator, after playing collegiately at Baldwin Wallace.
