Maples Named To Division I-AAA Athletics Director Association Scholar-Athlete Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association announced its 24th annual Scholar-Athlete Team Wednesday, with Cleveland State graduate student Colbi Maples earning a spot on the 13-member team.

Maples is the lone representative from a Horizon League institution on this year's Scholar-Athlete Team.

Maples, who also earned a spot on the Horizon League All-Academic Team earlier this season, is currently pursuing her master's in business administration after graduating Magna Cum Laude last spring with a degree in electronics engineering technology.

On the court, Maples led the Vikings to their fifth straight 20-win season and their sixth straight postseason appearance after helping Cleveland State to the Great 8 of the WNIT.

Averaging 15.7 points, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game on the season, Maples tallied 10 20-point games, including a career-high 39-point performance against Monmouth in her final game inside the Wolstein Center. Maples eclipsed 1,000 points for her collegiate career during her first season at CSU (2023-24), while she recorded the 1,000-point of her Cleveland State career at Robert Morris during the second half of league play this season.

Throughout her CSU career, Maples was named the Horizon League Player of the Year, two-time First Team honoree, All-Defensive Team honoree, and two-time Horizon League Preseason Player of the Year.
