Opening Whistle
Saturday's game will feature two teams on winning streaks as Robert Morris, winners of five straight, and Cleveland State, winners of three consecutive, battle on Krenzler Field at 2 p.m.
 
Alejandrino & His Awards
Seth Alejandrino racked in three honors for his efforts this past week as the sophomore was named the NEC Defensive Player of the Week, an NEC Prime Performer, and was included on the USILA Team of the Week.
 
The Centerville, Ohio, native set both a career and season-best with six caused turnovers, which also tied the single-game school record. He also picked up six ground balls and is currently tied for second in the league with 14 caused turnovers.
 
Hickey Hauls in His Second
Brennen Hickey received his second NEC Prime Performer award of the season after finishing with seven points on five goals and two assists against Mercyhurst. This was the sophomore's second seven-point game of the season, with the first coming against Canisius.
 
Catch That Streak
The Vikings will be looking to match its longest win streak in program history, four straight, with a victory on Saturday. The last time was in 2024, with the fourth win of that streak coming against RMU.
 
Last Game Out
Cleveland State improved to 2-0 in NEC openers after defeating Mercyhurst at home on Saturday, 14-6. The Lakers scored the first goal of the game before the Vikings rattled off four unanswered to lead 4-1 at the end of the quarter. Cleveland State again limited the opponents to a goal in the second quarter while scoring six to lead 10-2 at halftime.
 
Mercyhurst outscored the Green and White 4-1 in the third to get within 11-6 before all three goals belonged to CSU in the fourth. Robbie Stewart went 15-of-20 in the faceoff circle with seven ground balls. Alejandrino tied the program record for caused turnovers with six and scooped up six ground balls.
 
Hickey finished with seven points on five goals and two assists. Ethan Erker also collected multiple goals on the day. Oliver Vanyo moved to 3-0 in the cage after making 12 saves.
 
About the Colonials
Robert Morris has won five consecutive games to sit at 6-3 overall and 1-0 in league play after defeating Detroit Mercy in the opener, 11-6. Dylan Anderson has been named the NEC Freshman of the Week on three different occasions and is coming off a three-goal performance versus the Titans.
 
Anderson leads the attack with 17 goals and seven assists for a team-best 24 points. Joel McCormick and Luke Prezioso each have eight assists. Owen Tapper has 23 caused turnovers, which is tops in the country. Cristian Davis is 89-of-185 in the faceoff circle with 41 ground balls. Nate Fechter has started every game in the cage, racking up 98 saves.
 
Series History
This will be the eighth game between these two teams, with the Colonials holding a 6-1 advantage. Cleveland State's lone win came in 2024 on Krenzler Field by a score of 13-6.
