CLEVELAND, Ohio – Adam Van Voorhis scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift Cleveland State (2-4) over St. Bonaventure (3-4) 12-11 on senior day.

Adair and Johnson each scored unassisted goals as the Vikings ran out to a 2-0 lead less than two minutes into the game. St. Bonaventure rattled off the next two goals, tying the game with 7:02 remaining in the quarter.
Whalen put the home team back up by one, but a Bonnies goal with 16 seconds left evened the game at 3-3 heading into the second.
Stewart won the opening faceoff of the second quarter and went straight to goal for his second career strike and the 4-3 advantage. After the Bonnies retied the game, the Vikings rattled off the next three to lead 7-4 at halftime. Three different scorers found the back of the net:
Alex Long,
Layton Speer, and
Creed McDonald.
St. Bonaventure started the new half quickly, netting a goal less than a minute in.
Brennen Hickey and McDonald answered right back with unassisted goals to lead 9-5 with 9:32 showing. A man-up goal by the visitors made it a three-goal game heading into the fourth.
The first two goals of the fourth belonged to St. Bonaventure, as their deficit was down to 9-8 at the 9:44 mark. The Green and White responded with strikes by Johnson and Hickey to extend the margin to 11-8 with 7:11 left in regulation. However, three goals by St. Bonaventure tied the game, sending it to overtime.
St. Bonaventure won the faceoff in overtime, but the Vikings forced a turnover to gain its first possession of extra time. The Green and White paid it off as Van Voorhis scored the game-winner off a Hickey pass.
Hickey, Johnson, and McDonald all finished with two goals and one assist. Stewart went 15-of-25 in the faceoff circle with five ground balls.
Payton Corpus forced a team-best three turnovers. Dalum played 58 minutes in the cage, making 14 saves before exiting.
Oliver Vanyo recorded his second win of the year in relief.
Cleveland State will now begin NEC play on Saturday, March 14, at 1 p.m. against Mercyhurst.
