SETTING THE SCENE
The Cleveland State women's basketball team will close out the week on Saturday, February 8, hosting Oakland in a 12:00 p.m. contest. Entering Saturday's contest, the Vikings stand at 19-5 overall this season and 10-3 in Horizon League play, while Oakland is currently 8-14 on the year and 6-7 in league action.

THE CLEVELAND STATE/OAKLAND SERIES
Saturday's game will mark the 24th meeting between the two teams in program history, with Cleveland State owning a 17-6 advantage in the all-time series. Over the last 14 matchups, the Vikings own a 13-1 record against the Grizzlies.
 
VIKINGS IN #HLWBB PLAY
Cleveland State enters Saturday's contest with a 10-3 record in Horizon League play this season, currently sitting in third place in the #HLWBB standings. Continuing the ninth week of league action, the Vikings are one of just three teams with 10+ #HLWBB wins on the year.
 
HOME-SWEET-HOME
Saturday's game will mark the 11th of 14 scheduled home games for the Vikings this season, with Cleveland State owning a 9-1 record when playing on its home court this season. Over the last three seasons, the Vikings have gone 41-2 when playing at home, including a perfect 17-0 campaign last year.
 
…DOUBLEHEADER BASKETBALL
Saturday's game will also mark the fourth doubleheader with the Cleveland State men's basketball team, and the second during #HLWBB play. The Vikings are 3-0 when playing in doubleheader games so far this season, including a 73-68 overtime win against Milwaukee back in December.
 
TRACKING A 20-WIN SEASON
Entering Saturday's game against Oakland the Vikings are just one win shy of recording a 20-win campaign - which would be the fourth straight 20-win season and the fifth over the last six years. A win on Saturday would make Cleveland State the second #HLWBB team to reach the 20-win plateau this season, while it would be the first time in program history that the Vikings have recorded four consecutive 20-win campaigns.
 
REISMA TALLIES 20-POINT GAME AGAINST DETROIT MERCY
Last time out, Jordana Reisma led the Viking offense against Detroit Mercy, finishing with 21 points for her fifth 20-point game of the season. Reisma tallied her 21 points on 7-for-13 shooting, along with a 7-for-8 effort from the free throw line. For the season, Reisma is averaging 15.3 points per game, ranking fifth among #HLWBB players.
 
…REISMA EFFICIENT FROM THE FIELD
Jordana Reisma continues to be one of the most efficient shooters among Division I players, entering Saturday's contest against Oakland with a .678 field goal percentage on the year. Reisma, who currently ranks second among all Division I players in field goal percentage, is shooting 139-for-205 on the year, while she currently sits at the top of the CSU Career Record Book with a .595 clip (361-606) for her career.
 
GUERREIRO ON THE BOARDS
In Thursday's game, Sara Guerreiro grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds, marking her sixth double-digit rebounding game of the season. So far this year, Guerreiro leads the Vikings and ranks second among league players averaging 7.8 rebounds per game, and has been part of a Cleveland State team that averages a league-best 38.3 boards per contest.
 
…GUERREIRO AMONG #HLWBB LEADERS
Entering the weekend, Sara Guerreiro continues to be one of the best all-around players in the Horizon League, ranking in the top-five in rebounding, assists and assist to turnover ratio. Guerreiro currently ranks second in the league averaging 7.8 rebounds per game, while ranking third with 4.3 assists per game and a 2.3 assist/turnover ratio. In addition, Guerreiro also ranks 19th averaging 10.5 points per game. Through 24 games played, Guerreiro leads the Vikings with 187 total boards and 102 total assists.
 
LEO MOVES INTO FOURTH PLACE ON CSU SCORING LIST
After finishing with 13 points in the win over Detroit Mercy last time out, Destiny Leo moved into fourth place on the CSU Scoring List, entering Saturday's contest with 1,814 total points. Leo, who is one of just five Vikings all-time with 1,800+ career points, is now just 26 points shy of moving into third place on the all-time scoring list. For the season, Leo is averaging 10.7 points per game, and is shooting 40-percent or better from the field (.419) and three-point range (.438).
 
…LEO FROM BEHIND-THE-ARC
Last time out, Destiny Leo went 4-for-5 from three-point range for the second straight game, finishing the Detroit Mercy contest with a team-best 64 three-pointers on the year. Through 24 games played, Leo ranks second among Horizon League players averaging 2.7 three-pointers per game, while also ranking second with her .438 clip from behind-the-arc. For her career, Leo sits at the top of the CSU Career Record Book with 288 made three-pointers, while she is averaging a CSU Record .396 three-point field goal percentage.
 
PERDUE AMONG NCAA SCORING LEADERS
Entering Saturday's game against Oakland, Mickayla Perdue ranks 10th among Division I players with 487 total points on the year. Perdue, who leads the Horizon League averaging 20.3 points per game, has tallied 12 20-point games so far this season, including six in #HLWBB play. Perdue's 12 20-point games on the season leads all league players, while she is also the only #HLWBB player with multiple 30-point performances.
 
CLEVELAND STATE FROM THE FREE THROW LINE
Through 24 games played this season, the Vikings rank sixth nationally averaging 17.13 free throws made per game. For the season, Cleveland State has converted a league-best 411 free throws, including 20+ free throws during six games this year. Last time out, the Vikings went 19-for-22 from the free throw line (.864), marking the fifth straight time that Cleveland State shot 85-percent or better.

As a team, Cleveland State has had one of the more efficient offenses this season, leading the Horizon League and ranking 10th among Division I teams with a .477 clip from the field on the year. The Vikings have shot 50-percent or better during nine games so far this season, including three times during #HLWBB play (at Wright State, at Detroit Mercy, at Milwaukee). Individually, five Vikings are shooting 45-percent or better from the field on the year; Jordana Reisma (.678), Mya Moore (.500), Sara Guerreiro (.494), and Macey Fegan (.468).
 
HEAD COACH CHRIS KIELSMEIER
The Vikings will be under the direction of seventh-year head coach Chris Kielsmeier, who currently owns a career head coaching record of 560-180. At Cleveland State, Kielsmeier owns a record of 144-64, with his 100th victory as a Viking coming in a 95-41 decision over Chicago State last season. Under his guidance, Cleveland State has posted four 20-win seasons, including a program-record 30 wins during the 2023-24 campaign.
