About Notre Dame
The Fighting Irish open the season after winning their second straight national championship and are again the ACC Preseason favorites in 2025. Notre Dame had five players named to the Preseason All-ACC Team, including the NCAA Championship Most Outstanding Player, Chris Kavanagh. The FOGO of the Year, Will Lynch, is back along with All-Americans Will Donovan, Ben Ramsey, and Shawn Lyght.
Series History
This will be the fifth meeting with the Fighting Irish winning the previous four games. A year ago, Notre Dame won at home, 25-3.

First Game Out Leads to the First Award
Drew Graves was named an NEC Prime Performer after forcing a game-best three caused turnovers against Ohio State in the season opener. He also picked up two ground balls on defense.
A Helping Hand
Alex Van Voorhis starts the season with 29 career assists, the fifth most in program history. Michael Wilson holds the top mark with 62 established from 2018-21.
Getting it Done in the Circle
Robbie Stewart has 123 career faceoff wins, which is the fourth most all-time. Danny Tesler leads the way with 478 set from 2017-20.
The Start of a New Conference
Cleveland State will begin its new journey in the NEC after spending the past three seasons in the ASUN. The NEC makes its return after stopping in 2022 and will feature eight teams, including three former members of the ASUN: Robert Morris, Cleveland State, and Detroit.
Robert Morris was picked as the favorite to win the conference after receiving three first-place votes. The Vikings were right behind with two first-place votes, and LIU was third with two first-place votes. VMI claimed the final first-place tally to come in fourth.
The top four teams in the regular season standings advance to the NEC Tournament from May 1-3, which will be hosted by the regular season champion.
