CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team will continue one of its busiest stretches of the season this week, beginning with a midweek matchup against Oakland on Tuesday, October 28. The Vikings will welcome the Grizzlies to Woodling Gymnasium for a 6:00 p.m. contest.

Entering Tuesday's matchup, the Vikings have won three of their last four outings, including a series sweep at Purdue Fort Wayne. Tuesday marks the first of three home matches for the Vikings this week, as they will also host IU Indy on Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November 1.

Laken Voss enters the week closing in on becoming the seventh Viking in program history to record 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs, currently sitting at 1,140 kills and 990 digs. Voss, who eclipsed the 1,000-kill mark earlier this year, has notched seven double-doubles on the year, including a 10-kill, 12-dig performance against RMU last time out.

Defensively,
Vayda Delventhal continues to be one of the best liberos in the Horizon League, averaging 4.51 digs per set to rank fifth in the #HLVB standings. So far this season, Delventhal has combined for 338 digs, including a trio of 20-dig performances.

In addition to Delventhal, the Cleveland State defense has been helped by the blocking efforts of
JeriLynn Koehler and
Julia Jozefov, who each have 55+ total blocks on the year. For Koehler, 23 of those blocks have come over the last two weeks, including a career-high 11.0 total blocks at Purdue Fort Wayne – her first double-digit blocking effort.
