CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team closed out play at the Horizon League Individual Championship Sunday, with
Lincoln Battle and
Carl Gedlitschka both in action.
After picking up four wins over the first two days, Battle came up short in the singles final, dropping a 7-6(6), 6-4 decision against Tennessee State's Taj Hibbert.
In doubles, Battle and Gedlitschka earned a spot in Sunday's semifinals after picking up a pair of wins on Friday and Saturday. In the semifinals, the duo dropped an 8-2 match against Lucas Bitzer and Oliver Dao of Tennessee Tech.
Cleveland State will be back in action at the ITA Midwest Regional in mid October, with opening round action set for Thursday, October 10.
