INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Cleveland State men's tennis team picked up a trio of postseason honors Thursday, with Carl Gedlitschka picking up the Sportsmanship Award and a spot on the All-League Second Team, while Lincoln Battle was named to the All-League First Team.
 
Battle is earning a spot on the All-League First Team for the third straight season, becoming just the fourth Viking all-time to earn a spot on the team during three or more seasons.
 
As Cleveland State's No. 1 singles player, Battle has posted a team-best 22-9 record on the year, including a 15-4 mark when playing at the top of the lineup this spring. Against Horizon League opponents, Battle notched a perfect 6-0 record, and enters tournament play on an eight-match singles win streak.
 
For his career, Battle has 64 singles wins, and with one more win would become one of just 15 Vikings all-time with 65 career victories.
 
Gedlitschka picks up all-league honors for the second straight season, while he becomes just the fifth Viking in program history to earn Sportsmanship accolades.
 
For the year, Gedlitschka is one of three Vikings with 20+ wins, entering tournament play with 22 singles wins. After picking up a win against YSU in the regular season finale, Gedlitschka moved into a tie for fifth place on the CSU Singles Wins List, currently sitting at 87 career victories.
 
In doubles, Battle and Gedlitschka have been Cleveland State's No. 1 team throughout the spring season, entering tournament play ranked No. 58 in the latest ITA Doubles Rankings. So far this season, the duo has combined for a 19-8 record, including a 13-4 mark playing at the top of the lineup this spring.
 
Gedlitschka also ranks in the top-five on the CSU doubles wins list, entering tournament play with 82 career individual doubles wins.
