CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State men's tennis head coach
Brian Etzkin announced another addition to the 2026-27 recruiting class, as Connor Thornton from Dublin, Ohio is set to join the Vikings this fall.
"I'm excited to have a very good Ohio player join our team in Connor. He has a great work ethic and attitude, and we can't wait to see him wearing the Green and White for years to come," Etzkin said.
Thornton will come to Cleveland State as the No. 5 ranked player in his class in the state of Ohio, while also ranking in the top-250 in the nation. On the year, he has 45+ victories, including one tournament win.
"I chose Cleveland State because of the excellent business school, strong team atmosphere, and the opportunity to play for a highly successful coach and team," Thornton said.
Thornton is part of a five-person recruiting class for the Vikings, as he will join Max Henson, Nikolas Jacobson, Nicolas Wild, and Alexander Nikolov as newcomers next fall.
