CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team had another successful day at the Horizon League Individual Championship, with
Lincoln Battle advancing to the singles final and Battle and
Carl Gedlitschka earning a spot in the doubles semifinals.
Battle picked up a pair of singles wins on Saturday, earning a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 victory over William Rassat of Youngstown State in the quarterfinals, before posting a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Tennessee Tech's Alex Alvarez in the semifinals.
Battle will now take on Tennessee State's Taj Hibbert in Sunday's championship match.
In doubles, Battle and Gedlitschka earned an 8-3 victory over a Northern Kentucky duo in the quarterfinals, advancing to Sunday's semifinal matchup against a Tennessee Tech tandem.
Play at the Horizon League Individual Championship concludes tomorrow, with the singles final and the semifinal and finals of doubles.
