CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's basketball head coach
Chris Kielsmeier announced the addition of Bob Dunn to the 2024-25 coaching staff, as Dunn returns to CSU to serve as an assistant coach.
"We are excited to welcome Bob back to the Cleveland State sidelines, and we are looking forward to having his experience help our program as we continue to level up," Kielsmeier said. "Bob has a track record of working with successful teams and his knowledge of our system will allow him to quickly adjust as we close in on the start of the season."
Dunn rejoins the Vikings after spending the 2023-24 campaign as an assistant coach in the ACC at the University of Miami (FL), where he was responsible for opponent scouting and the progression of the Hurricanes' offensive system. Dunn also played a large role in the development of the Miami players through on-court coaching and the use of advanced analytics and film study.
Last season, Dunn helped Miami to a 19-12 record, including a pair of ranked wins against No. 4 NC State and No. 17 Duke.
Dunn will be returning for his second stint on the Cleveland State sidelines, as he also served as an assistant coach during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 campaigns.
In 2022-23 Dunn helped the Vikings to a 30-5 record – setting a program record for single-season wins – including the team's third Horizon League Tournament championship.
During his first season as a Viking, Dunn was part of another 20-win campaign with CSU, while the Vikings also earned a spot in the WBI – the team's second straight postseason appearance.
Prior to joining the Vikings, Dunn spent six years at George Mason where he served as an assistant coach, helping to mentor back-to-back A-10 Players of the Year and leading the team to a 24-10 record in 2017-18 – the most wins in program history.
Dunn also spent time at Wagner, Kentucky, and Dayton, bringing with him over 15-years of experience in collegiate coaching.
