SETTING THE SCENE
The Cleveland State women's basketball team will take a quick break from Horizon League play this week, hosting Bethune-Cookman in its lone game of the week on Friday, December 13. Entering Friday's matchup, the Vikings are 7-2 on the year, while Bethune-Cookman is currently 2-6 overall this season.

LAST TIME OUT…
The Vikings extended their current win streak to five straight games, picking up an 82-49 victory over IU Indy. This marks the sixth straight season that the Vikings have recorded a win streak of five games or more, while they lead all #HLWBB teams with their current five-game win streak.
 
HOME-SWEET-HOME
Friday's game will mark the fifth of 13 home games for the Vikings during the 2024-25 season, and the lone game to be played inside Woodling Gymnasium this year. Last time out, the Vikings picked up an 82-49 victory over IU Indy,  extending their current home win streak to 27 straight games. This stretch ranks third among Division I teams (South Carolina-62, FGCU-37), and dates back to February 2, 2023.
 
VIKINGS IN WOODLING GYMNASIUM
Friday's game will take place inside Woodling Gymnasium, which was home to the Cleveland State basketball teams from 1973-1991. During this 18-year stretch, the men's and women's basketball teams combined for a 214-94 record at home, while the teams featured 16 future CSU Hall of Famers. After the men's and women's basketball teams moved to the Wolstein Center for the 1991-92 campaign, Woodling Gymnasium remained the home to Cleveland State volleyball, wrestling and fencing.
 
VIKINGS SHARING THE BALL
Cleveland State has done a great job of spreading the offense so far this season, averaging a league-best 15.89 assists per game. Last time out, the Vikings finished with 19 assists on 26 made field goals, marking the sixth straight game with 15+ helpers and seventh overall this year. Individually, Sara Guerreiro ranks second among league players averaging 4.9 assists per game, while Mickayla Perdue is averaging 3.9 to rank fourth.
 
HIGH POWERED OFFENSE
Through the first five weeks of the 2024-25 campaign, Cleveland State has been the highest scoring team in the Horizon League, averaging 79.0 points per game. The Vikings, who have tallied 75+ points five times this season, also lead the league with a .471 field goal percentage on the year. So far this season, the Vikings have shot 50-percent or better from the field three times, including a .526 clip against Louisiana in their last non-league contest.
 
LEO FROM THREE-POINT
Last time out, Destiny Leo converted a season-best six three-pointers in the win over IU Indy, extending her Cleveland State record to 251 made three-pointers. Leo, who was 6-for-11 from behind-the-arc against the Jaguars, has now recorded two or more three-pointers in all nine games so far this season, ranking second among #HLWBB players averaging 3.0 three-pointers per game. For her career, Leo is shooting 39-percent from three-point, putting her at the top of the CSU Career Record List.
 
PERDUE NOTCHES ANOTHER 20-POINT GAME
Mickayla Perdue finished with a team-best 27 points against IU Indy last time out, marking her sixth 20-point game of the season. For the year, Perdue leads the league averaging 22.0 points per game, while she is tied for ninth nationally in scoring. In addition, Perdue is also one of the Horizon League's most efficient shooters, posting a .459 clip on the year, while her .469 clip for her CSU career ranks her seventh in the CSU Career Record Book.
 
REISMA EFFICIENT FROM THE FIELD
Entering Friday's game against Bethune-Cookman, Jordana Reisma continues to be Cleveland State's most efficient offensive player, shooting 69-percent from the field going 47-for-68 through nine games played. Among Division I players, Reisma ranks third with her .691 clip, while she currently sits at the top of the CSU Career Record Book with a .573 field goal percentage (269-for-469) for her career.
 
CLEVELAND STATE FROM THE FREE THROW LINE
Through nine games played this season, the Vikings rank fourth nationally averaging 19.1 free throws made per game. For the season, Cleveland State has converted 172 free throws, including a season-best 33-for-41 performance against Chicago State last month. The Vikings are shooting at a .761 clip from the free throw line on the year, with the quartet of Mickayla Perdue (49-61), Sara Guerreiro (31-36), Destiny Leo (18-23), and Macey Fegan (10-11) all shooting 75-percent or better.
 
VIKINGS IN THE RANKINGS
Cleveland State entered the sixth week of the 2024-25 campaign ranked 12th in the latest edition of the College Insider Women's Mid-Major Top-25 Poll. The Vikings are one of two Horizon League teams to be in the current rankings, as Green Bay sits 21st in this week's top-25, while Purdue Fort Wayne and Detroit Mercy are receiving votes.
 
HEAD COACH CHRIS KIELSMEIER
The Vikings will be under the direction of seventh-year head coach Chris Kielsmeier, who currently owns a career head coaching record of 548-178. At Cleveland State, Kielsmeier owns a record of 132-62, with his 100th victory as a Viking coming in a 95-41 decision over Chicago State last season. Under his guidance, Cleveland State has posted four 20-win seasons, including a program-record 30 wins during the 2023-24 campaign.
