WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Cleveland State men's tennis team continued its strong play at the Wake Forest Invite Saturday, with a trio of players advancing to their respective singles draw finals.
The trio of
Cole Chappell,
Devin Boyer and
Ty Rothchild all advanced to their respective draw finals after picking up two wins on Saturday.
Chappell picked up wins over Georgia Southern and Furman, and will now take on Boyer in the championship match after he earned wins against Georgia Southern and College of Charleston.
Rothchild earned his wins against Georgia Southern and Elon, and will take on an opponent from College of Charleston in his championship match.
Lincoln Battle also picked up two wins on the day, earning victories over Tennessee Tech and Clemson in his back draw matches.
Along with this group,
Carl Gedlitschka,
Nico Jamison and
Maxime Aremon also picked up singles wins on Saturday.
In doubles, Gedlitschka and Aremon posted Cleveland State's lone victory of the day, earning a win over a North Carolina A&T tandem.
Play at the Wake Forest Invite will conclude tomorrow, with one round of singles.
