EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Cleveland State men's tennis team returned to action Thursday, opening play at the ITA Midwest Regional.
Cole Chappell picked up Cleveland State's only two singles wins on the day, earning a 6-1, 6-3 straight-set win against Youngstown State's Alex Woiten in the first round and a 7-6(6), 4-6, ret. decision against Reece Yakubov of Ohio State in the second round.
With his two wins, Chappell has earned a spot in the Main Singles Draw, and will continue play tomorrow.
In addition to Chappell,
Lincoln Battle will also represent CSU in the Main Singles Draw, while the Vikings will have three teams in the Main Doubles Draw which opens tomorrow.
