Vikings Fall At Green Bay, 80-58

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Despite three players in double-figures, the Cleveland State women's basketball team fell at No. 12/11 Green Bay Saturday afternoon, 80-58. With the loss the Vikings fall to 8-10 on the season and 3-4 in the Horizon League, while Green Bay remains undefeated at 17-0 (7-0).

Honesty King led the Vikings with 19 points, one shy of her career-high, while Shalonda Winton notched 14 and Cori Coleman scored 11. Along with 14 points, Winton also tallied 11 rebounds, marking her eighth double-double of the season.

Green Bay, who committed just two turnovers during the first 20 minutes of action, went into halftime with a 20-point lead at 43-23. The Phoenix gained their second lead of the contest (5-2) at the 19:19 mark of the first half and held the advantage for the remainder of the game. King scored CSU's final 11 points of the half, converting three straight three's and a jumper during the final 8:21.

The Vikings matched Green Bay during the opening minutes of the second half, as both teams tallied 11 points through the first 12:15. During that span CSU got seven points from Winton and two points from both King and Coleman.

After Cleveland State was able to match the Phoenix basket-for-basket once again over the next 2:44, Green Bay posted six straight points to extend their lead to 31 at (74-43) with 5:41 left to play. The Vikings outscored Green Bay 15-6 to close out the contest, with seven points from Coleman, five from King and three from Winton, as CSU closed the gap to 22, with Green Bay earning the 80-58 victory.

For the contest, CSU shot 46-percent from the floor (23-50), including a .417 clip from three-point (5-12). The Phoenix were 29-for-68 from the floor (.426), while they scored 24 of their points off of 23 Viking turnovers.

Green Bay had four players score 12 points Saturday afternoon, Lydia Bauer, Sarah Eichler, Julie Wojta and Stephanie Sension, while Hannah Quilling also tallied double-digits with 10 points.

Cleveland State will return to action on Thursday, January 26 as the Vikings host Wright State in a 7:00 p.m. contest at the Wolstein Center.
