Final Stats

CLEVELAND - UW-Milwaukee's accuracy from the floor and dominance on the boards proved to be too much for Cleveland State to overcome in a 68-53 loss on Saturday afternoon in the Wolstein Center. With the win, the Panthers improve to 8-7 overall and 4-1 in the Horizon League, while the Vikings fall to 3-13, 1-4 HL.

UWM connected on exactly half of its field goal attempts (26-52) while dominating the boards by a 42-24 margin. Meanwhile, CSU shot just 37.0 percent from the floor (20-54).

The Vikings trailed 28-22 with 3:37 left in the first half, only to watch as the Panthers would close out the stanza on an 11-0 run to take a 17-point advantage into the locker room. UWM was never seriously threatened in the final 20 minutes, extending its lead to as much as 22.

"Milwaukee knocked down some outside shots tonight and were physically dominating on the boards," CSU head coach Kate Peterson said. "With a three-game roadtrip coming up, we need to regroup -- especially on the offensive end."

Chenara Wilson went 9-for-14 from the field en route to a career-high 18 points to pace the Vikings. Erin Martin added seven points, five rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals.

Nicole Drummond led the Panthers with 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting, adding six rebounds, four assists and a pair of blocks. Traci Edwards finished with 12 points and 14 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season.

Cleveland State next takes to the court when the Vikings travel to Youngstown State on Thursday, Jan. 19 for a 7:05 p.m. contest.
