Post-Game Quotes
Cleveland State Head Coach Mike Garland
"At times, we continue to be our own worst enemy. The first three minutes of the second half is still a mystery to me. I don't know why we could not rebound the basketball, and we relinquished the lead because of it."
On being short-handed: "Being shorthanded as we are at this time, we have to play a near-perfect game, and it's hard to win if you don't."
On the effort of the team: "If you want to look at the guts and effort that my team left on the floor today, they are there. We just continue make errors that are very costly. Hopefully we'll grow from this."
On the slow pace of the game: "You've never seen us play that slow all year. I hate doing it, but right now I have to. I've got to take a couple of stallions and turn them into plow horses."
-----
Cleveland State Forward Omari Westley
On being short-handed. "It's a situation that none of us expected. It's like a nightmare, but we have to continue to execute in order to get the win"
On winning the tight games: "We've been through this before when it came down to the final play and we needed a stop and a rebound. We have to be focused down the stretch to get the victory"
-----
Cleveland State Forward Patrick Tatham
On giving up the lead: "They probably out-worked us in that situation. We got into a comfort zone and they just out-played us."
-----
Youngstown State Head Coach John Robic
"It was a pretty sloppy game. I have to give CSU some credit, being short-handed. We played poor in the first half but much better in the second."
On Cleveland State's losing streak: "It's draining. You try to come up with solutions and ask kids to keep trying hard and believe in what they're doing. Cleveland State's kids still believed and worked their tails off tonight. Honestly, Mike Garland out-coached me tonight."
