Alex Bruskotter, a 6-8 wing from Shelby, Ohio, becomes the fourth player in the Cleveland State men's basketball incoming group. Bruskotter heads north after spending the previous two seasons at Wright State University.
Bruskotter redshirted his freshman season before playing in 15 games this past year for the Horizon League champion Raiders. He averaged 4.5 points in just 8.3 minutes per game. Bruskotter reached double-figure points in three games, with a season-best 25 points in the Wolstein Center on 6-of-8 shooting, including three of three from beyond the arc.
Bruskotter averaged 23.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game as a senior at Shelby High School. For his efforts, he earned Division II Northwest District Player of the Year, Division II District 6 Player of the Year and Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors.
In 2024, Bruskotter was a finalist for the Ohio Mr. Basketball award and was named the Ohio Division II Player of the Year. As a junior, he averaged 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists on the way to being named the Ohio District 6 Division II Player of the Year and a second team All-State Division II selection.
Bruskotter played for Team Ohio in Italy in Spring 2024 and the Ohio-Kentucky All-Star game.
