Micah Bays, a 6-3 guard from Toledo, Ohio, becomes the first member of the Cleveland State men's basketball incoming class. Bays has spent time at Lake Erie College and Central State, joining the Vikings with two years of eligibility remaining.
Bays spent his sophomore season at Central State University, under former Cleveland State Assistant Coach Travis Lewis. Bays played in all 30 games with 24 starts, averaging 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. He reached double figures in 24 games, crossing the 30-point mark on three occasions with a season-best 36 at Allen University.
In his first collegiate season at Lake Erie, Bays saw action in 21 contests with four starts. On the year, he averaged 5.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. The guard reached double-figures in seven games with a season-best 17 against Miami-Middletown.

Bays was a three-year letterwinner at Southview High School, scoring over 1,000 career points and setting the single-game scoring record with 43 points. He averaged 20 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.

In his final season, he earned All-Ohio Honorable Mention honors, First Team All-BCSN Ohio Top 5, First Team All-District, and First Team All-NLL, and was named the Northern Lake League Player of the Year after leading the league in scoring.
