The Cleveland State women's basketball team will open the month of February on the road this week, traveling to IU Indy for a 6:30 p.m. contest on Wednesday, February 4. Entering Wednesday's contest, the Vikings are 17-7 on the year and 7-6 in Horizon League play, while the Jaguars are 8-13 overall and 4-8 in league action.

Last month the Vikings recorded their 15th win of the season with a 68-61 decision over RMU, marking the fifth straight year that Cleveland State has recorded 15+ wins. Among Horizon League teams, CSU is one of just five teams with 15 wins on the year.

MAPLES NAMED #HLWBB PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Earlier this week,
Colbi Maples was named the Horizon League Player of the Week after helping the Vikings to a pair of wins against Milwaukee and Northern Kentucky. During the two games Maples averaged 22.5 points and 3.5 assists per game, while shooting 51-percent from the field on the week. In addition, Maples converted a handful of three-pointers on the week, while going 8-for-8 from the free throw line.

…MAPLES TALLIES BACK-TO-BACK 20-POINT GAMES
Colbi Maples tallied back-to-back 20-point games last time out, finishing with 25 points in the win at Northern Kentucky. Maples, who now has six 20-point performances on the year, went 9-for-16 from the floor, including 3-for-6 from three-point. Maples is one of four Horizon League players with six or more 20-point games on the season, and ranks fifth among league players averaging 14.1 points per game on the year.

ZINGARO NOTCHES BACK-TO-BACK DOUBLE-DOUBLES
Last time out,
Izabella Zingaro recorded her second straight double-double - and fourth overall this season - notching 25 points and 15 rebounds in the win over the Norse. Zingaro tallied season-highs in scoring and rebounding at NKU, while she also shot 75-percent from the field (9-for-12), and converted a three-pointer. Among Horizon League players, Zingaro is one of four players with four or more double-doubles on the year.

Izabella Zingaro's double-double last time out included 25 points - marking her second 20-point performance of the year. Zingaro, who leads the team and ranks second among league players averaging 15.6 points per game, has recorded three 20-point games over the last six outings.

LEONARD TOP-15 NATIONALLY IN STEALS
After 24 games played this season,
Jada Leonard continues to lead the Horizon League and rank 11th nationally with 71 steals on the year. Leonard, who has recorded at least one takeaway in every game this season, is averaging 2.9 steals per game. Leonard's 71 steals on the year makes her the only Horizon League player with 70+ takeaways during the 2025-26 campaign, while she is one of just 13 players among all Division I teams.

…ZINGARO AMONG NATION'S BEST IN FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE
Entering Wednesday's game,
Izabella Zingaro ranks eighth among Division I players with a .614 field goal percentage on the year. Zingaro, who has been perfect from the field twice this season, leads all league players in the category while also ranking fourth in the #HLWBB standings with a .809 free throw percentage.

So far this season, the Vikings rank 15th nationally averaging 16.21 free throws made per game. For the year, Cleveland State has converted 389 free throws, leading all Horizon League teams. Individually,
Izabella Zingaro is 114-for-141 from the charity stripe, while
Jada Leonard is 79-for-96. For the year, Cleveland State has recorded 20+ free throws eight times, including a season-high of 28 against Purdue Fort Wayne last month.

The Vikings will be under the direction of eighth-year head coach
Chris Kielsmeier, who owns a career head coaching record of 585-193. At Cleveland State, Kielsmeier owns a record of 169-77, with his 150th victory as a Viking coming in a 92-61 decision over Detroit Mercy last season. Under his guidance, Cleveland State has posted five 20-win seasons, including a program-record 30 wins during the 2023-24 campaign.
