Opening Whistle
The Vikings take to Krenzler Field for the first time after spending the first three weeks on the road against Marquette at 1 p.m.
 
Hello Outside
This will be the program's first-ever season that all games will be played outside the bubble and the first-ever home opener outdoors.
 
First Weekly Honor Goes To…
Robbie Stewart was named to the NEC Weekly Honor Roll after going 15-of-21 in the faceoff circle with eight ground balls against Bellarmine. This was the fourth honor for Stewart.
 
Last Game Out
Cleveland State dropped a 10-7 game at Bellarmine on Saturday afternoon. The Knights scored the first three goals before Adam Van Voorhis scored the next to trail 3-2 heading into the second.
 
Creed McDonald sandwiched a pair of Bellarmine goals to even the score at halftime, 4-4. McDonald completed the hat-trick just two minutes into the third, and then Alex Long struck to make it 6-4. After trading goals, Bellarmine tallied the final five goals of the game to win, 10-7.
 
Van Voorhis finished tied for a game-best five points on two goals and three assists. Robbie Stewart went 15-of-21 in the faceoff circle and picked up a game-best eight ground balls. Griffin Valli caused a game-high four turnovers.
 
About Marquette
The Golden Eagles are 0-2 after opening with a pair of top 20 teams in No. 20 Michigan (14-7) and No. 6/7 Notre Dame (16-11). Carsen Brandt was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after putting up four points on three goals and one assist against the Fighting Irish.
 
Brandt leads the attack with five goals, while Matt Caputo has a team-best three assists. Chandler Caster is 14-of-26 in the faceoff circle with eleven ground balls. Lucas Lawas has accumulated 26 saves.
  
All-Time Series
This will be the fifth meeting between these two teams, with Marquette holding a 3-1 advantage. The only meeting in Cleveland came in 2020, with the Golden Eagles winning 11-10 in overtime. Last season, the Green and White fell on the road, 15-7.

  • This is the tenth season of CSU lacrosse and the seventh under coach Andy German.
  • Cleveland State is 44-76 all-time and 27-50 under coach German.
  • The Vikings are 3-6 in home openers and 3-3 under coach German.

  • Justin Dalum is third in career saves with 233, trailing Cameron Logan's mark of 328.
 
NEC Preseason Poll
  • Robert Morris was picked to win the NEC after receiving six first-place votes.
  • LIU received the other two first-place tallies to put them in second.
  • Cleveland State came in the sixth slot.

  • Rock Entertainment Sports Network, a joint venture between Rock Entertainment Group and Gray Media, will broadcast all six lacrosse games.
  • Four of the six games will air live, with the other two on tape.
