CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team opened its 2026 home slate with a doubleheader on Monday, picking up a 4-3 victory over Toledo and a 6-1 win over Edinboro.
Against Toledo, the Vikings were able to earn the early doubles point with wins at the top two spots of the lineup from

Carl Gedlitschka and
Maxime Aremon/
Tristan Stine.
Gedlitschka carried his momentum into singles play then, as a 6-1, 6-4 victory at the No. 4 spot gave the Vikings a 2-0 advantage.
After Toledo earned a win at No. 5 singles,
Devin Boyer extended Cleveland State's lead to 3-1 with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.
Toledo answered with a win at the No. 3 spot, before
Nico Jamison clinched the match for the Vikings with a 6-3, 7-6(2) win at No. 2 singles.
Against Edinboro, the Vikings once again picked up the doubles point, with
Devin Boyer and
Andrew Zimcosky earning a win at the No. 2 spot in addition to a default win at No. 3 doubles.
Carl Gedlitschka put the first singles point on the board yet again then, as a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles clinched the match for the Vikings after two more default wins from Edinboro.
The Vikings then added on wins from
Lincoln Battle at the top of the lineup and
Tristan Stine at No. 3 singles.
Cleveland State will be back in action this weekend, traveling to DePaul on Friday and Northwestern on Saturday.
