Cleveland State Volleyball Travels To Oakland For Midweek Matchup

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team will continue its 2025 slate with a midweek matchup, traveling to Oakland on Tuesday, September 30 for a 6:00 p.m. #HLVB contest.

Tuesday's match will close out a four-match roadswing for the Vikings, while also marking the seventh road contest out of the last eight matches for Cleveland State.

Both teams will be looking for their first win in Horizon League play, as the Vikings dropped a weekend series at Northern Kentucky to open the league slate last time out, while Oakland came up short in a pair of matches at Milwaukee.

Entering Tuesday's match, Cleveland State owns a 22-12 record against the Golden Grizzlies, including a series sweep against Oakland last season.

Through 13 matches played this season, Cleveland State's offense has been led by the duo of Bryn VanVleet and Laken Voss, who have combined for 54-percent of the team's kills. VanVleet, who enters Tuesday's match ranked seventh among league players averaging 3.03 kills per set, has notched a team-best 121 total kills on the year.

Voss enters the week with 109 total kills on the year, and recently eclipsed the 1,000-kill mark for her career. Throughout her time as a Viking, Voss has recorded 3,829 attack attempts, a number that ranks her fourth in the CSU Career Record Book.

Defensively, Cleveland State libero Vayda Delventhal has been one of the best in the league so far this season, currently ranking second with a 4.49 digs per set average. Delventhal, who has combined for 193 total digs on the year, has recorded double-digit digs in all but one match this season, including a pair of 20-dig performances during non-league play.

In addition, Julia Jozefov has been Cleveland State's top blocker so far this season, entering Tuesday's match with 41 total blocks, ranking fifth among league players with a 1.03 blocks per set average.

Looking Ahead…
Cleveland State will host Wright State in a pair of matches this weekend, hosting the Raiders on Friday, October 3 and Saturday, October 4.
