Cleveland State Men’s Tennis Set To Open 2025 Fall Slate

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team will open its 2025 fall campaign this weekend, competing at both the WMU Invite and ITA All-American Championships.

WMU Invite
Five Vikings will be taking part in the WMU Invite this weekend, with the two-day tournament taking place in Kalamazoo, Mich. on Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20.
The group of Maxime Aremon, Devin Boyer, Cole Chappell, Nico Jamison, and Tristan Stine will begin their fall seasons at the WMU Invite.

ITA All-American Championships
Junior Lincoln Battle earned a spot in this year's ITA All-American Championship field based on his performance from last year, and marks the seventh straight year that Cleveland State will be represented in the field.

Battle, who is the reigning Horizon League Player of the Year, will begin play on Saturday, September 20 in the Pre-Qualifying Singles Draw. This marks the second straight year that Battle has earned a spot in the ITA All-American Championships field.

The 2025 Fall Slate
This marks the first of five weekends that the Vikings will be in action during the fall season, including the annual Viking Invitational inside the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion in late October (October 24-26).

The 2025-26 Roster
Cleveland State returns seven returners from last season's #HLTennis North Division Regular Season Championship team, while welcoming just one newcomer in true freshman Tristan Stine. The Vikings will be under the direction of 24-year head coach Brian Etzkin.
