Howey in the Hills, FL-The Cleveland State men's golf team capped a great run at the Horizon League Championship at Mission Resort with a runner-up finish. The Vikings finished the tournament at 28-over par besting third-place IU Indianapolis by a stroke and finishing 11 shots back of tournament champion Wright State. The three teams were paired together in the final round with the lead changing hands throughout the morning.
Seniors
Andrew Kaye and
Mason Frazier closed out their Cleveland State careers with top ten individual finishes. Kaye was named to the All-Tournament Team after posting a third-place finish at 1-over par. He finished the week with a round of 1-over 73 which included three birdies in his final five holes. Frazier also posted a 73 and finished tied for ninth at 6-over par. He carded four birdies in his final 18 holes to finish in the top ten.
Brody Simms finished with a 2-over 74 which included four birdies. Simms finished in a tie for 17
th place at 10-over par.
Dillon Pendergast finished a shot behind Simms at 11-over for the tournament and finished tied for 19
th. Pendergast closed with a 75 in round three. Rounding out the lineup,
Ryan Dinan finished 48
th at 30-over par. Dinan closed his freshman season with an 84 in the final round.
