Springboro, OH-The Cleveland State men's golf team finished its final regular season event with a 1-under par team total following the final round of the Wright State Invitational on Monday. The Vikings posted a 5-over par 289 in the final round and finished in fifth place in the 12-team field.
Andrew Kaye was the low individual placer for Cleveland State finishing with a 3-under total for 54 holes in a tie for 11
th place. Wright State's Timmy Hollenbeck won the event with a 12-under par total. Kaye finished with a 1-under round of 70 in the final round. He recorded four birdies and three bogeys in the final round including a 2-under 33 on the back nine.
Mason Frazier also finished in red numbers for the tournament posting a 1-under total to finish tied for 16
th. Frazier posted a 1-over 72 in the final round that included five total birdies in his final 18 holes.
Brody Simms also tallied a 1-over 72 on Monday. Simms finished at even par for the tournament and tied for 21
st.
Other lineup scores for the Vikings included
Dillon Pendergast who finished at 3-over and tied for 35
th after a 4-over 75 in the final round.
Ryan Dinan finished tied for 67
th at 11-over par and
Alex Anderson finished 81
st at 19-over par. Dinan shot 75 and Anderson finished with a 78 in Tuesday's round.
Ben Scheeff finished tied for 78
th at 17-over par and
Dominik Cosic closed in a tie for 85
th at 25-over par. Scheeff shot his best score of the week with a 73 on Tuesday while Cosic carded an 83. Both played as individuals.
Tuesday's round brings the 2024-25 regular season to a close. The Vikings will now shift their focus to the Horizon League Championship Tournament which begins on Saturday at Mission Resort in Florida. The individual and team champion of the 54-hole event will qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
