INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Vikings head into the final day of the championships in third place with 327 points. Oakland continues to lead with 656 points and IUI is second with 450 points.
Jackson Nester has had a perfect collegiate career in the 400-yard IM, winning his fourth championship in a new school record time of 3:45.98. He has set new records in each of his four wins.
The 100-yard butterfly saw
Paddy Johnston place third after clocking a 47.22, improving his fifth-fastest time in school history. In the B-final,
Daniel Lyngaas was the runner-up, with a time of 48.19.
Cleveland State had three in the A-final of the 200-yard freestyle, which saw
Daniel Lyngaas finish fifth, improving his fourth-fastest time in school history to 1:37.26.
Noah Greer (1:39.25) placed eighth, and
Connor Green (1:37.88) came in a spot behind.
In the 100-yard breaststroke,
Tyler Schultze placed fourth after clocking the fourth-fastest time of 54.12, and
Alex Cucu was a spot back, improving his eighth-fastest time to 54.50. Rounding out the A-final was
Gorkem Sulun in eighth with a time of 55.56.
Ahmad Abdalhak then won the B-final of the event after clocking a 55.10.
Xander Austin was the runner-up in 1M diving after scoring 368.10.
James Wolf (327.40) placed fifth, and
Liam Pearson (255.45) was eighth.
The championships conclude tomorrow with the 1650 freestyle, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, women's 3m diving, and 400 freestyle relay.
