Last Time Out {Women's Edition}

• Cleveland State improved to 3-1 in dual meets with a 157-143 victory over St. Bonaventure in the home opener.
• Ellie Seiter won both diving events, 1-meter (263.93) and 3-meter (281.10).
• Isabella Caraballo won both distance events on the weekend: the 1650-yard freestyle (17:07.71) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:06.65).

 
Weekly Honors {Women's Edition}

• Seiter garnered Diver of the Week honors for a third straight time and fourth time in her two-year career.
• Caraballo received her first-ever weekly honors as the sophomore won both distance races.

 
Youngstown State Women

• Youngstown State is 0-1 in duals and is coming off the Akron Zips Classic, where the Vikings also competed.
• Olivia Sweetman was named the Horizon League Women's Swimmer of the Week after having four top-five finishes at the Akron Zips Classic.
• In the season-opening dual, Hanna Held swept the diving events against Oakland.

 
 Last Time Out {Men's Edition}

• The Vikings moved to 3-1 in dual competitions after doubling up St. Bonaventure, 200-100.
• Cleveland State claimed nine individual races and one relay versus the Bonnies.

 
Youngstown State Men

• The Penguins are 0-1 in duals and are coming off the Akron Zips Classic, where the Vikings also competed.
• Youngstown State finished as the runners-up to the Vikings at the classic.
• Quinn Cynor was named the Horizon League Men's Swimmer of the Week for the second consecutive week after winning six events and helping set three meet records.

Series History

• The men are 3-1, which includes a 2-0 mark inside Busbey. Last season, Cleveland State won on the road, 161-139.
• The women are 12-10 and have won the last two duals. Last season, the Green and White came out on top, 164-135.

 
About the Vikings

• Cleveland State returns 22 athletes on the women's side and 20 on the men's squad.
• The Vikings welcomed 9 newcomers on the men's side and seven on the women's team.

 
Get to Know Coach Richardson
Richardson enters his second year with the Green and White and is the fifth head coach in program history. In year one, he guided both teams to third-place finishes at the Horizon League Championships.
 
Preseason Rankings

• Both the men's and women's teams were picked to finish third in the Horizon League preseason poll.
• Oakland was picked to win the championships on both sides.

 
Chelf Looking for Three

• Senior Gracie Chelf is seeking to win her third consecutive Horizon League Championship in the 50-yard freestyle.
• Last season, she set school record times in both prelims and finals. Prelims were 22.85 and 22.78 in finals.

 
Replacing Champions

• The men will seek to replace 200-yard butterfly champion Paddy Johnston and four-time 400-yard IM champion Jackson Nester.
• The women will be without Giovanna Cappabianca, winner of the 200-yard breaststroke.

 
Divers Aiming for More at NCAA Zones

• Cleveland State sent four divers to zones last year, including three men and one woman.
• 1-meter consisted of Xander Austin, James Wolf, Brooke Eichel, and Ellie Seiter.
• The 3-meter featured Austin.

Outside the Pool Success

• Both teams received Scholar All-America Team honors for the Spring 2025 semester.
• The women's team posted a combined GPA of 3.63, while the men's program registered a team GPA of 3.32.
