CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State leads Magnus Cup after the first day of competition inside Busbey. The Green and White have 525 points, St. Bonaventure is second with 428.5 points, and Binghamton is third with 401 points.
The Vikings started the night finals with a Magnus Cup record time in the 200-yard freestyle relay as
Joe Parkhurst, Gabriel Hudgens,
Justin Schneider, and
Daniel Lyngaas finished in 1:20.58.
Tyler Schultze put up a meet record time of 24.79 to win the 50-yard breaststroke.
Alex Cucu was just behind in second with a time of 24.80.
In the 50-yard backstroke,
Noah Greer came in sixth after putting up a time of 23.13.
Jaden Davillier claimed the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:28.12.
Jacopo Lanzo came in sixth with a time of 4:32.42 and
Brock Wallace was a spot back with a time of 4:33.90.
The 200-yard IM was won by
Ahmad Abdalhak with a time of 1:48.44. Schultze came in fifth after clocking a 1:50.83 and
Aidan Florio was seventh with a time of 1:50.90.
Lyngaas sprinted to a time of 20.21 to claim the 50-yard freestyle. Parkhurst (20.43) was third, Schneider (20.53) was fourth, and Hudgens (20.72) and eighth.
The night ended with the 400-yard medley relay of Davillier, Schultze, Lyngaas, and Parkhurst, putting up a winning time of 3:15.46.
