CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team continued play at the Viking Invitational Saturday, with the doubles team of
Carl Gedlitschka and
Maxime Aremon earning a spot in Sunday's championship match.
In doubles,
Carl Gedlitschka and
Maxime Aremon earned a spot in Sunday's championship match after picking up a 6-2 win over Youngstown State in the quarterfinals and a 6-0 victory against Wayne State in the semifinals.
Gedlitschka and
Devin Boyer both picked up wins in their round of 16 singles matches Saturday, Gedlitschka with a 6-1, 6-3 win and Boyer with a 6-2, 6-2 victory. Both Gedlitschka and Boyer then came up short in their quarterfinal matches.
In addition,
Tristan Stine also picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win against Niagara in his back draw match.
Play at the Viking Invitational will conclude tomorrow, with doubles and singles matches beginning at 9:00 a.m.
