AKRON, Ohio – The Vikings lead the Akron Zips Classic with 360 points after the first day of competition. Youngstown State is second with 300 points, and Xavier is third with 225 points.

The Vikings opened the two-day classic with a runner-up finish in the 400-yard medley as Jaden Davillier, Tyler Schultze, Daniel Lyngass, and Gabe Hudgen finished in 3:18.21.

Xander Austin claimed 3-meter diving with a score of 276.80.

Cleveland State went first and second in the 500-yard freestyle behind Davillier 4:31.47 and Brock Wallace 4:34.86.

The 50-yard freestyle saw Parkhurst sprint to a meet record time of 20.34.

The Green and White capped off the first day in style, establishing a new meet record in the 800-yard freestyle as Davillier, Daniel Lyngaas, Hudgens, and Jacopo Lanzo finished in 6:41.16.

The Vikings return to the pool tomorrow for three sessions, with swimming at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., while diving will be at 1:30 p.m.
