WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Cleveland State men's tennis team returned to action Saturday, falling at Purdue, 7-0.
Despite dropping the doubles point, Cleveland State's No. 3 team of
Cole Chappell and
Maxime Aremon had their match knotted at 4-4 before it was abandoned.
Carl Gedlitschka forced his match at No. 4 singles to three sets, picking up a 7-6 win in the opening frame before falling in the second set and then dropping a 10-5 super tie break third set.
"Although this wasn't the outcome that we wanted today, I saw some encouraging signs and I'm proud of the continued fight from our team. We are continuing to work day after day, and I'm confident that we will hit our stride soon," head coach
Brian Etzkin said.
The Vikings will be back in action tomorrow, traveling to Notre Dame for an 11:00 a.m. contest.
