Philadelphia, PA-The Cleveland State fencing teams competed on Saturday at the UPenn Elite Invitational. Both teams fenced five rounds of competition and finished 0-5 on the day.

Cleveland State claimed three event victories throughout the day. Men's saber collected a 6-3 win against Columbia in the fifth and final round of the day. Women's saber won 5-4 over Yale in the first round and women's epee won 5-4 over Penn State in round 3.

The teams will be off until January when the Vikings return to competition following the holiday break. The women's team hosts Denison on January 16, and both teams will travel to Notre Dame for the DeCicco Duals on January 25.
