CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State fencing teams were back in action Sunday, competing at the NCAA Midwest Regional.
For the women,
Rayllen Prafil Capaccio and
Anna Quinn led the way, with Prafil Capaccio earning a spot in the second round of epee and Quinn moving on to the final round of 12 in foil.
Prafil Capaccio finished the first round of pool play with a perfect 5-0 record to finish 14
th overall, while Quinn went 2-3 during the first round notching a 12th place finish.
Also notching top-15 finishes for the women were
Samantha Way (14th) and
Aubrey Testroet (15th) in saber.
For the men,
Marcus Strugar had the top finish in foil, placing 10th overall after picking up a trio of wins in pool play.
Jamison Horne earned a spot in the final round of 12 in saber, picking up a pair of wins in pool play, before finishing 12
th overall in the final round.
In addition,
Simon Caisse posted a top-15 finish in saber (13th).
