CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's tennis head coach Frank Polito has announced the addition of Melliz Petkova Mustafa (Visby, Sweden) for the upcoming 2024-25 campaign, with Petkova Mustafa set to join the Vikings next fall with four years of eligibility remaining.
"We are very excited to have Melliz join the Viking Family and be part of a strong lineup next season," head coach Frank Polito said. "Her hard work and dedication will fit right into our team culture, and I'm excited to see how she can elevate her game throughout her career."
Petkova Mustafa will come to Cleveland State following a strong junior career, where she had success in both singles and doubles play, including being ranked fourth nationally in the 17 Age Group last year.
In doubles, Petkova Mustafa captured the title at last year's ITF J5/J30, while also being a finalist at this year's event and reaching the semifinals at the Swedish Indoor Championships.
Petkova Mustafa was also a singles finalist at last year's ITF J5/J30 event, and was named the Talent of the Year in Gotland during 2019.
Petkova Mustafa will join Jenna Redmile as the incoming class for the 2024-25 campaign.
