CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team had the 2026 season come to an end Sunday, dropping a 4-1 decision against Youngstown State in the Horizon League Championship.
Cleveland State was making its fourth straight trip to the #HLTennis Championship match.
Laura Tapia picked up the Vikings' lone win on the day, earning a 6-0, 7-6(4) victory at No. 5 singles. For the tournament, Tapia finished with a 2-1 singles record.
Ella Franz was up a set at No. 1 singles, while
Jenna Redmile was up in her second set at No. 4 singles before both of their matches were suspended.
Sunday's match marked the final contest for senior
Ella Franz, who finished her career as the Cleveland State individual and team doubles record holder.
