INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After helping the Cleveland State women's tennis team to a share of the Horizon League Regular Season title,
Ella Franz and
Anna Mancino have been named All-Horizon League.
Franz picks up First Team honors, while Mancino was named to the All-League Second Team. This marks the first all-league honor for both Vikings.
Throughout the spring season Franz played primarily at No. 1 singles, finishing regular season play with a team-best 16 wins on the year, including a 4-1 mark against Horizon League opponents. Franz enters #HLTennis tournament play with 59 career wins, and would become the 17
th Viking all-time to reach 60 career wins.
In doubles, Franz became the Cleveland State record holder for individual doubles wins earlier this year, and enters tournament play with 85+ career doubles wins. Through the spring season, Franz has played with
Melliz Petkova Mustafa at the top of the lineup, with the duo owning a team-best 15 doubles wins on the year.
Mancino has spent her rookie campaign playing throughout the top part of the CSU lineup, primarily playing at No. 2 singles. Mancino currently has 10 singles wins on the year as one of five Vikings with double-digit wins this season.
In doubles, Mancino has paired with
Leah Geisz to play primarily at the No. 2 spot, with the duo owning 10 wins on the year.
Through regular season play, Franz picked up three #HLTennis Singles Player of the Week honors and four Doubles Team of the Week accolades, while Mancino was part of two #HLTennis Doubles Team of the Week mentions.
