CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team's quest for its first-ever Horizon League Tournament title will begin on Friday, April 24, as the Vikings are set to begin play as the No. 4 seed in this year's tournament. The Vikings will open tournament play with a first round contest against No. 5 seed IU Indy.

This year's Horizon League Tournament will take place at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, marking the first time the tournament will be held at this location.
Over the last 24 years, the Vikings have combined for 19 #HLTennis Tournament wins, have appeared in the semifinals 18 times and have made seven championship match appearances. Cleveland State has made 14 straight trips to the semifinals, while they have advanced to the championship match in each of the last three seasons.
Entering tournament play five Vikings have double-digit singles wins on the year, led by
Ella Franz with 16.
Leah Geisz and
Jenna Redmile both have 15 wins on the year, while
Laura Tapia has 13 and
Anna Mancino has notched 10. Against league opponents, Franz and Redmile recorded a team-best 4-1 record, while Geisz and Tapia both picked up a trio of wins.
In doubles, Franz and Petkova Mustafa have a team-best 15 wins, including 10 at No. 1 doubles this spring, while Mancinso/Geisz have combined for 10 wins on the year.
Through regular season play, the Vikings combined for nine weekly awards from the Horizon League, as Franz picked up Singles Player of the Week three times, and the doubles teams of Franz/Petkova Mustafa (4) and Geisz/Mancino (2) each picked up multiple Doubles Team of the Week honors.
