CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cori Coleman scored a career-high 14 points, with 13 coming in the second half, as the Cleveland State women's basketball team earned a 62-48 victory over Lake Erie Wednesday evening. The Vikings end the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 5-6 record, while the Storm fall to 8-2 on the year.

Destinee Blue posted her first double-double of the season and the 10th of her career against Lake Erie, as she tallied 14 points and 12 rebounds while Janelle Adams also scored in double-figures for CSU, adding 10 points and seven assists.

During the opening half Adams stopped a 7-0 Lake Erie run at the 6:23 mark to give CSU a four-point lead (21-17) which extended to six points 49-seconds later with an Honesty King layup. That would be as close as the Storm would get during the first half, as the Vikings closed the frame on a 12-4 run going into halftime with an 11-point lead at 32-21. During that span Adams chipped in four points on a pair of jumpers, while Kiersten Green added four points on two free throws and a jumper.

With a 6-0 run in the opening minutes of the second half, the Storm was able to close the gap to single digits (39-30) before Blue converted a jumper at the 12:58 mark to extend CSU's lead to 11 points (41-30). After allowing Lake Erie to come within three points at the 9:40 mark (44-41), Shalonda Winton and Coleman took over for the Vikings, combining for 12 of CSU's final 18 points. During the final 4:23, Lake Erie managed just four points, as Cleveland State earned the 62-48 victory.

CSU shot 50-percent from the field against Lake Erie (26-52), while they held the Storm to a .316 clip from the floor (18-57). The Vikings posted 19 assists on their 26 field goals, forcing 16 Storm turnovers.

The Vikings will now begin Horizon League play, as they travel to Youngstown State for a 2:05 p.m. contest this Saturday (Dec. 31). Saturday's contest marks the start of a three-game road swing for CSU, as the Vikings also travel to Valparaiso and Butler the following weekend (Jan. 5-7) to continue league play.
