CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State won all 13 events to sweep duals from Baldwin-Wallace and Gannon in the City Classic Meet on Tuesday evening in Busbey Natatorium. The Vikings topped BW, 177-60, and earned a 176-60 triumph over Gannon.

It was the second straight time that CSU won every event in its home pool after sweeping St. Bonaventure on Nov. 2.

"We swam an off lineup tonight and the team really responded," head coach Wally Morton said. "We wanted to try and give different people a chance to swim in events they normally don't get to compete in to see what they can do."

And the Vikings didn't disappoint their head coach.

Khaled Elgamal led CSU as he claimed wins in the 500 free (4:50.56) and the 200 free (1:46.41), while also swimming a leg on the winning 200 medley relay team.

"Khaled was our swimmer of the meet," Morton said. "He performed very well and is a big part of our success this season."

Jakub Dobies was the only other Viking to win multiple swimming events as he captured the 50 free with a time of 21 seconds flat, which should be ranked in the top two of the league this season. Dobies also won the 100 free with a season-best time of 45.57.

Four other Vikings won events on the evening, including Dave Duecker who swam a 1:56.85, his fastest of the season, to win the 200 IM. In addition, Todd Winchell won the 100 fly (50.77), Zvonimir Androic claimed the 1,000 freestyle (10:18.66) and Nedim Nisic won the 100 backstroke (55.15).

CSU also won both relays, the 200 medley and 200 freestyle

In addition, Dan Baiko won both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards for CSU as he scored 296.40 on the 1-meter and 287.80 on the 3-meter.

The Vikings will return to action on Friday, Nov. 16, when they travel to South Bend, Ind., for a dual with Notre Dame.

"We are entering the toughest part of our schedule with duals against Notre Dame and Ohio State followed by the Miami Invitational," Morton said. "We need to continue to work hard and practice with intensity and that will translate into success at the meets."
