CLEVELAND - On an afternoon where Cleveland State honored seniors Omega Harrington, Erin Martin, Kim Neidermeyer and Anetra Williams, it was a pair of freshmen that led the way in a 71-62 victory over Loyola in the Wolstein Center.

Erica Hormig paced the Vikings with career-highs of 17 points and nine rebounds, while Dominique Butler tallied 14 points and a career-best 10 rebounds for her first double-double. The win snapped a 12-game losing streak for CSU (4-21, 2-12 HL).

Cleveland State led 36-30 at the half, extending the lead to 16 (62-46) with 8:16 left to play. However, the Vikings would go cold over the next five minutes as the Ramblers (3-22, 3-11 HL) pulled to within four (65-61) after a 15-3 run. CSU staved off the charge by making six of their seven free throws down the stretch as Loyola missed its final six field goal attempts.

"What an exciting way to send our seniors off," CSU head coach Kate Peterson said. "We were finally able to put things together at both ends of the court. I'm proud of how our freshmen stepped up and gave us the push we needed to get over the hump."

The Vikings held a 46-30 advantage on the boards, including a 17-4 margin on the offensive glass. The Ramblers shot 42.9 percent from the field (24-56), while CSU went 26-66 (39.4 percent).

Harrington finished with 13 points, five assists and three steals, while Martin added eight points, seven rebounds and six assists in their final regular season home game.

Loyola's Marquise Hanser scored a game-high 24 points while posting six rebounds, five steals and four assists. Emily Ponder joined Hanser in double-figures with 16 points and nine rebounds.

The Vikings close out the regular season with a pair of road games next week. Cleveland State travels to Wright State on Monday (Feb. 20), followed by a Thursday (Feb. 23) tilt at Butler.
