CLEVELAND -
Junior center Kim Brockway (Marine City, Mich./Marine City) has been named the Midwestern Collegiate Conference Player of the Week. This is the second time in her career she has been recognized by the MCC, as she was also honored on Jan. 3, 2000.
Brockway helped direct the Vikings to a pair of wins last week, extending CSU's winning streak to four games. Wednesday at Akron, she tallied 11 points, three rebounds and a pair of blocks in just 17 minutes as CSU blew out the Zips. She followed that up Saturday by going 7-of-10 both from the field and the free throw line en route to 21 points (just one shy of her career-high), as the Vikings edged IUPUI. Brockway also added four rebounds and two blocks against the Jaguars.
After a week off for final exams, Cleveland State (5-2) travels to Youngstown State (2-7) on Saturday, Dec. 16 for a 5:15 p.m. tip.
