Box Score DETROIT, Mich. – Cleveland State (5-6, 3-2) was tripped up by Detroit (2-9, 1-4) 10-8 on Saturday night.

Cleveland State started the scoring at the 12:41 mark behind an unassisted goal by Brennen Hickey. Three minutes later, a man-up goal by Creed McDonald doubled up the advantage.

Detroit answered with three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 lead into the second quarter.

The Titans pushed the margin to two with a strike less than a minute into the new quarter. Maddox Johnson brought the margin down to 4-3 with his first collegiate goal with 8:15 to go in the first half.

Detroit converted on the man-up with 5:52 showing before a man-down goal by Luke Ray seven seconds later brought the deficit down to 5-4. The man-down goal was the first for the Green and White this season.

The scoreline remained unchanged heading into the intermission.

The Titans bagged the first goal of the second half on a man-up opportunity with 9:24 showing to lead 6-4. The Vikings ended the quarter strong, though, scoring three goals in the final two minutes to take a 7-6 advantage into the fourth. Landon Whalen, McDonald (second man-up), and Liam Moffatt were the scorers.

Detroit notched the first two goals of the final quarter to go back in front, 8-7, with 10:22 left in regulation. M. Johnson notched his second goal of the game, tying the score at 8-8 with 5:48 showing. However, Detroit scored the final two goals of the game to prevail, 10-8.

M. Johnson and McDonald each finished with two goals. Robbie Stewart went 8-of-22 in the faceoff circle.

Drew Graves forced four turnovers and picked up six ground balls. Justin Dalum made seven saves in the cage.

The Vikings return to Krenzler Field for the final time this season on Friday, April 17 against Le Moyne at 6 p.m.
