Opening Whistle
The Vikings will be making the program's first appearance in the NEC Tournament and second overall postseason tournament on Thursday night against LIU in the semifinals at Robert Morris.
 
A Win Would…
Put Cleveland State in the program's first-ever championship game on Saturday, May 2 at 4 p.m. against the winner of Robert Morris and VMI.
 
Awards Coming In
Cleveland State had five players named to the NEC awards list with Adam Van Voorhis and Seth Alejandrino on the First Team, Robbie Stewart and Payton Corpus on the Second Team, and Landon Whalen on the All-Rookie Team.
 
Quick Turnaround
Cleveland State and LIU met on Saturday in the regular season finale with the Sharks winning at home, 12-8. Both teams netted three goals in the opening quarter before LIU used a 4-2 second quarter to lead 7-5 at halftime. Following a 2-2 third quarter, the Sharks used a 3-1 fourth to win 12-8.
 
Xander Johnson led the attack with four points on three goals and an assist. Van Voorhis finished with multiple assists.
 
Drew Graves forced three turnovers and picked up three ground balls. Robbie Stewart went 5-of-8 in the faceoff circle. Justin Dalum made ten saves in the cage.
 
About the Sharks
LIU obtained the second seed in the tournament after putting up a 10-3 overall record and 5-2 mark in conference games. The Sharks had four players named to the First Team; Ben McIsaac, Cameron Connolly, Aidan Zuhoski, Shaun Hill, along with Ryan Fountain on the Second Team, and Antonio Ciolfi and Jack White house on the All-Rookie Team.
 
Ben McIsaac paces the team in goals with 37 and Aidan Zuhoski is close behind with 32. Cameron Connolly tops the team in assists with 16. Shaun Hill is 155-of-254 in the faceoff circle with a team-best 81 ground balls. Kyle Cochran has forced 17 turnovers to lead the backline. Brayden Wilcken has started the last two games and has appeared in five games this season, holding a 1-2 record with 41 saves.

LIU has won the previous two games by scores of 15-7 in 2025 and 12-8 in 2026.
 
On This Date
This will be the third game on April 30 with the Vikings going 1-1 previously. In 2022, the Green and White fell at home to Robert Morris, 19-12, before defeating Bellarmine for the first-ever postseason win in 2024.
