CLEVELAND – Cleveland State (10-19, 6-12 Horizon League) fell to Purdue Fort Wayne (16-13, 10-8 Horizon League), 92-86, on Sunday afternoon at the Wolstein Center.
Junior guard
Chevalier Emery (Appleton, Wisconsin) led the Vikings with 21 points on 6-of-15 shooting and was 4-of-8 on the three-point line. Senior guard
Jaidon Lipscomb (Columbus, Ohio) added 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting while going 6-of-14 from deep. Junior forward
Josiah Harris (Canton, Ohio) added 14 points and made two three pointers while senior guard
Tre Beard (Chillicothe, Ohio) rounded out the double-digit scorers with 13 points.
As a team, Cleveland State shot 28-of-59 (47.5%) and 16-of-39 (41.0%) from the three-point line. The Vikings were 14-of-20 (70.0%) from the free throw line. Purdue Fort Wayne was 32-of-59 (54.2%) from the field line and 15-of-33 (45.5%) from the three point line. PFW was 13-of-23 (56.6%) from the charity stripe.
The Vikings pulled down 31 rebounds, led by Harris who had eight. Twenty one of Cleveland State's baskets were assisted, with Beard distributing six. CSU forced 13 turnovers and scored 13 points off those turnovers. Lipscomb and Senior guard
