CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State golf team is set to open its 2026 spring slate this week, traveling south to Hilton Head Island for the Wexford Intercollegiate. The two-day tournament will run Monday, February 16 and Tuesday, February 17.
The Wexford Intercollegiate has served as the spring kickoff for the Vikings over the last few years, and is hosted by Francis Marion University at the Arnold Palmer Signature Course. The course measures 6,884 yards and plays to a par of 72.
Round 1 begins with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start on Monday, with 36 holes of continuous play scheduled. The third and final round begins at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
Cleveland State is one of 18 teams in the field for this year's Wexford Intercollegiate, joining College of Charleston, Cornell, Dayton, DePaul, East Carolina, Francis Marion, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Mercer, Presbyterian, Radford, Saint Joseph's, Samford, Temple, USC Aiken, Western Carolina, Xavier.
The Viking lineup will feature
Dominik Cosic,
Ryan Dinan,
Trace Gibson,
Dillon Pendergast, and
Brody Simms.
Last season, Pendergast paced the Viking returners with a T-46 finish at the Wexford Intercollegiate, while Simms finished T-53 and Cosic placed 77
th overall.
This week's tournament will mark the first of six events for the Vikings this spring, all leading up to the Horizon League Championships, April 25-27 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
Earlier this spring, the Vikings were selected to finish fourth in the Horizon League Preseason Poll, earning 67 points with five returners from last season's #HLGolf Runner-Up squad.
